About the Program

Every Tree Planted Is a Promise Kept

Climate change is no longer a distant threat - it is a daily reality. Rising temperatures, erratic monsoons, depleted groundwater, and vanishing green cover have disrupted lives and livelihoods across rural Bengal. The Green Earth Initiative is Divya Dhara Foundation's response to this crisis.

Launched from our roots in Tehatta, Nadia, this program combines mass tree plantation with environmental education, sustainable farming awareness, and community-led conservation efforts. We do not simply plant trees - we nurture ecosystems.

A tree planted today is shade for someone tomorrow, fruit for a family next year, and oxygen for generations to come. That is the arithmetic of hope.

What We Do

Our Key Activities

From saplings to awareness, every initiative strengthens the green cover.

Mass Tree Plantation

Large-scale drives planting native species like neem, banyan, mango, and bamboo along roadsides, riverbanks, schools, and open lands.

Nursery & Sapling Distribution

Running a community nursery that grows saplings and distributes them free to families, schools, and panchayats for household planting.

Environmental Workshops

Interactive sessions in schools and colleges on climate change, biodiversity, water conservation, and sustainable living.

Sustainable Farming Awareness

Teaching farmers organic composting, natural pest control, and rainwater harvesting to reduce chemical dependency and protect soil health.

Pond & Wetland Restoration

Reviving local ponds and wetlands that serve as natural water reservoirs, support biodiversity, and recharge groundwater tables.

World Environment Day Celebrations

Annual events with rallies, pledge campaigns, sapling giveaways, and cultural programs to mark international environmental days.

Our Approach

Plant. Nurture. Sustain.

1

Survey & Select

Identify barren land, roadsides, and school grounds. Choose native species suited to local soil and climate.

2

Plant & Protect

Organise drives to plant saplings with proper guards, mulching, and watering infrastructure.

3

Monitor & Nurture

Regular follow-up visits to check survival rates and ensure adequate care during the first year.

4

Educate & Empower

Train communities and school eco-clubs to take ownership, turning drives into lifelong habits.

Be Part of the Green Revolution

You do not need a farm to make a difference. Every sapling planted, every child taught, every rupee donated adds up to a greener planet.

  • Join a plantation drive - Roll up your sleeves and plant saplings with us during our weekend and seasonal drives.
  • Sponsor trees - Fund the planting and maintenance of trees. Each tree costs approximately Rs 50 to plant and nurture for a year.
  • Adopt a green zone - Commit to caring for a small patch of planted land near your home, school, or workplace.
  • Spread awareness - Share our campaigns on social media. Tag us and inspire others to plant at least one tree.
