About the Program

Cleanliness Is Not a Chore - It Is a Culture

India's urban and semi-urban areas face a growing waste management crisis. Open drains, overflowing bins, and littered streets are not just eyesores - they are public health hazards that disproportionately affect the most vulnerable.

Divya Dhara Foundation's Clean City Mission tackles this challenge head-on. Operating primarily in Tehatta, Krishnanagar, and across Nadia district, we organise regular cleanliness drives, raise awareness about waste segregation, and work with local bodies to improve sanitation infrastructure.

We do not just clean streets. We change mindsets. When a community takes ownership of its surroundings, the transformation is permanent.

What We Do

Key Activities

From streets to schools, our clean city initiatives cover every corner.

Community Clean-Up Drives

Regular neighbourhood and public space cleaning events where volunteers come together every weekend to sweep roads, clear drains, and remove litter.

Waste Segregation Awareness

Door-to-door campaigns teaching families how to separate wet, dry, and hazardous waste at the source - the foundation of effective waste management.

School Hygiene Programs

Interactive workshops in local schools teaching children about personal hygiene, cleanliness habits, and their role as ambassadors of a cleaner community.

Dustbin Installation

Placing colour-coded waste bins in markets, bus stops, and public areas to make responsible disposal convenient and accessible for everyone.

Drain & Waterway Cleaning

Clearing clogged drains and waterways to prevent flooding, stagnant water, and mosquito breeding grounds during monsoon season.

Awareness Rallies & Events

Street rallies, nukkad nataks (street plays), and poster campaigns to spread the message of civic responsibility and zero-litter culture.

Our Approach

How We Create Lasting Change

1

Identify

Survey localities with the worst waste accumulation and sanitation gaps to prioritise intervention areas.

2

Mobilise

Rally local volunteers, youth groups, and community leaders to participate in hands-on cleaning drives.

3

Educate

Run door-to-door and school workshops on waste segregation, composting, and sustainable habits.

4

Sustain

Set up community clean-up committees to maintain standards long after the drive ends.
